Furniture Quality Inspection in Turkey

Why Inspect Furniture Made in Turkey?

Turkey is one of Europe’s largest furniture exporters, with major production hubs in Kayseri, İnegöl (Bursa), Istanbul and Ankara. Quality is generally strong — but furniture is also one of the product categories where defects are most expensive to discover late. A container of sofas or dining sets that arrives with scratched finishes, misaligned joints or missing hardware cannot be fixed remotely, and return shipping is rarely economical. An independent furniture quality inspection in Turkey catches these problems while they can still be corrected.

What a Furniture Inspection Covers

Workmanship and finish

Sampled items are unpacked and examined under proper lighting: surface finish, colour and grain consistency, scratches, dents, glue marks, stitching quality on upholstered pieces, and foam density and seating comfort where applicable.

Construction and function

Joints, frames and moving parts are tested: drawers and runners, hinges and doors, folding and reclining mechanisms, levelling feet and load stability. For flat-pack furniture, a full trial assembly confirms that parts, pre-drilled holes and hardware packs match the assembly instructions.

Measurements and materials

Key dimensions are measured against your technical file, and materials are compared with the approved specification — timber species, board grade, veneer thickness, fabric composition and hardware quality.

Packaging and transit protection

Export cartons are checked for adequate corner protection, internal blocking and correct labelling, and carton drop tests can be performed on request. Furniture damaged in transit is usually a packaging problem, not a handling accident.

AQL Sampling for Furniture Orders

Inspections follow the ISO 2859-1 (AQL) standard, typically at AQL 2.5 for major and 4.0 for minor defects, with sample sizes drawn randomly across production batches. The result is a statistically valid pass/fail decision delivered in a photo-rich report within 24–48 hours.
